Beech Class
Beech Class will be developing their learning through the theme of exploration.
We will start the term learning about famous historical explorers and considering their impact on our understanding of the world. In the second half of term we will move onto geography and will be exploring a small village in Nepal to see how the area is similar and different to their local area.
In Art, we will be inspired by abstract artists to create planets and space art.
In ICT we will be programming and trying to make a floor robot move. Then they will be thinking about data and information, and how we can sort and group data. We will be learning how we can keep safe online too.
Our science will focus on living things and their habitats. We will investigate microhabitats within our school environment and within the wider world. We will study food chains and how they work within habitats, as well as considering the impact we have on the world around us.
Class Information
There will be no formal weekly spelling test.
Number bonds and the 2x, 5x and 10x tables will be our focus throughout the year. Tests will be half termly.
PE is on Monday and Friday.
On Monday we would like the children to come to school in their uniforms and bring their PE kits with them to change into. On Fridays, we would like the children to come to school in their PE kits.
