Beech Class
In Beech Class we are exploring the history of transport and investigating how transport has shaped our lives. We will learn about Amelia Earhart in English lessons including who she is and her legacy in transport. In Science the children will be identifying and comparing the use of everyday materials and exploring how materials can be changed and the suitability of materials.
Within Art lessons we are going to learn about sculptures and how to make our own sculpture in the style of Michelle Reader. Beech Class will also design, make and evaluate their own moving vehicle using axles for movement.
In RE we will learn about rules and values in Judaism. We will also find out about journeys including the Christian story of Christmas and the Nativity story.
In History we will be finding out transport has developed. We will look at key events, such as the first train and aeroplane journeys.
Class Information
There will be no formal weekly spelling test.
Number bonds and the 2x, 5x and 10x tables will be our focus throughout the year. Tests will be half termly.
PE is on Monday and Friday.
On Monday we would like the children to come to school in their uniforms and bring their PE kits with them to change into. On Fridays, we would like the children to come to school in their PE kits.
