Our Values

Aspiration

We want to do our best and aspire to great things for our futures.

Teamwork

We are all individuals but also part of a team. We have many opportunities to work together and co-operation is key.

Resilience

We persevere no matter how difficult the task is. We hold the view that the harder you try, the better you get.

Responsibility

We are all responsible for our learning and keeping our school a safe and happy place to be.

Kindness

No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted. - Aesop

Respect and Harmony

Everyone deserves respect and should be treated with dignity. We promote this value within and outside our school. We celebrate diversity. We may have different opinions and beliefs but should always respect our differences.

Honesty

Be honest at all times no matter what has happened. Remember that honesty brings trust.

At Cliddesden Primary School we work together as a community to provide a happy, secure, supportive and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to achieve to the absolute best of their ability whilst retaining a love of learning that will stay with them into their adult lives.

British Values - Our school values and British Values are closely connected.

DEMOCRACY

Children are always able to voice their opinions and we foster an environment where children are safe to disagree with each other. As a small school there are opportunities for all our pupils to share their views and ideas. Our House Captains lead termly House meetings where the children can make suggestions of how the school could improve.

THE RULE OF LAW

The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behaviour and through school assemblies. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves and the consequences when laws are broken.

INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY

Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make choices safely, through the provision of a safe environment and empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Whether it is through choice of challenge or participation in our extra-curricular clubs and opportunities, pupils are given the freedom to make choices.

MUTUAL RESPECT

Part of our school ethos and positive behaviour policy has revolved around our Values such as ‘Respect’, and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown. The school promotes respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom and learning rules, as well as our behaviour policy.

TOLERANCE OF THOSE OF DIFFERENT FAITHS AND BELIEFS

This is achieved through enhancing pupils understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. Assemblies and discussions involving prejudices and prejudice-based bullying have been followed and supported by learning in RE and PSHE. One of or School Values is Respect and Harmony, and we celebrate our differences through assemblies and our inclusive culture and ethos.
