Tag rugby - norman league
Earlier this month we saw the conclusion of the Tag Rugby Norman League. We went into the final meeting 8 points clear at the top and all to play for in what we knew would be a challenging finale. Rucstall school were in second place but had a game in hand over us. In our first match we drew with Rucstall 3-3 after being 3-1 up with only minutes to go. This made things very tense for our final two games. We watched Rucstall beat Hatch Warren, not once but twice, reducing the gap in points between them and ourselves. We were victorious against Hatch Warren with two tries to one but then had to face the much improved Rucstall again. It was a nail bitingly close match that was 2-2 until the last minute. Then Rucstall were awarded a free ball right near the touchline for a foul we conceded and scored in the last action of play. We had to wait for the scores and points to be totalled up, but I am glad to say that Cliddesden narrowly won the league by 2 points. This is only the second time we have won the league, the first being in 2017. Well done to the whole squad from Years 5 and 6. We will be presented the Norman League cup at Overton Rugby Club at the finals in May where we will play against the champions from the other 7 leagues.
