Willow Class - Ambulance Visit
On Wednesday morning, just as we were finishing our playtime, an ambulance arrived. Willow Class were so excited!
We had a visitor, Alex the paramedic. Alex brought one of the ambulances he works in to show us. We asked lots of questions and learnt all about Alex’s job. He told us about how many emergencies he might attend in one day (2-5). He told us Hampshire Ambulance services can go to 2,000 emergencies in a day all together!
We looked carefully at the outside of the ambulance, watched and counted the flashing lights and listened to the noisy siren!
Alex showed us the ramp and how the stretcher comes out to help patients. We looked inside the ambulance and Alex showed the computer, camera, pull down seats, wheel chair and heart monitor. There were lots of tidy cupboards too.
Alex opened up the emergency first aid bags he might take to and emergency too. He talked about his uniform and we liked the badge with a crown and snake.
Thank-you Alex for coming into Cliddesden School and sharing your amazing job with us.
We have been learning about ‘People who help us’. What job will we learn about next?
