Willow Class - Parent Workshop
We started the day listening to the story of Can't you sleep, Little Bear by Martin Waddell. We sequenced the story and retold it to our adults in the afternoon. We all remembered the story really well.
We all learnt how to make a lantern to help us see in the dark. Great listening everyone. We lit the lanterns and turned out the lights. It felt spooky and amazing! We spoke to our adults about how we felt.
Mrs Nicholson showed everyone how to make a sentence about how we felt. We orally rehearsed it first, counted cubes to remember the sentence and looked at word and phonics mats to chop and blend sounds in the words. Our adults were quick learners and helped us to write our sentence. The year 1children extended their sentence with the wow word 'because'.
Everyone read their sentence again. Super writing everyone. Thank-you to our adults for coming along to help out and learn about first and extended writing in Willow Class.
