April 2025
The final meeting of the Norman League began with only two points separating St John's in first place and Kemphott in last place. Cliddesden won their game against St John's but lost to North Waltham and Kemphott. With a couple of key players missing we knew it was going to be challenging. The biggest surprise was Kempshott winning all 3 of their games and being crowned league winners. The two top teams finished on the same points but with Kempshott scoring more tries in the competition. We gained the same points as St John's but finished below them on tries scored. Despite finishing bottom, the effort was there from all the squad and they did the school proud as ever.
March 2025
Our Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team had a successful visit to North Waltham yesterday in the third and penultimate stage of the Norman League. They beat North Waltham and St John’s and drew with Kempshott. As you can see from the table below, only two points separate top and bottom so with a possible 15 points on offer, all schools have all to play for in the final stage at Kempshott on April 28th. If we can show yesterday’s form again, we still could be in with a chance to be champions again.
February 2025
The Norman League Tag Rugby League resumed this month at St John's. The first game against Kempshott didn't go too well for the Green and Yellow Army as we were defeated 4 tries to 1. The team picked themselves up to draw 3-3 against North Waltham and in the last game were narrowly defeated 4-3 by the hosts.
This leaves us bottom of the group but only 6 points behind the current leaders. With two more legs to go any of the four teams could still win it. Let's hope for an improvement in the next games. Cliddesden have been the champions for the last two seasons.
November 2024
We had our first fixture in the Norman League in early November. The league works by each team hosting a 'meet' and playing each other. We lost to St John's, drew with Kempshott and beat North Waltham. The team played well and all the games were closely contested. We currently sit in second place with three more 'meets' to go. Cliddesden have won the league the previous two years, so we hope to learn from these games and improve for our next 'meet' at North Waltham in the spring term.
