Schools Primary Prom - The Anvil
On Tuesday 2 July, all of Key Stage 2 went to the Anvil in the afternoon to attend the Schools Primary Prom, run by Hampshire Music Service. Our afternoon was made even more exciting just by getting to the coach - a road closure in the village meant that we had to have a quick walk down to the duckpond!
At the Anvil, we were lucky enough to get seats near the front. We were treated to a range of music, all themed around the upcoming Olympic Games. There was a large choir from Whitely Primary School, a percussion ensemble, an orchestra, a brass band but the most impressive performance was definitely a Samba group from Knightwood Primary School. They had only been playing for 5 weeks, but they were incredibly co-ordinated, showed an excellent sense of rhythm and made the most amazing sound! We also had to use our own vocal talents: along with all the performers and the whole audience, we had to sing 'The Climb' by Miley Cyrus and 'Reach' by S Club 7.
We had an amazing afternoon and can't wait to go again next year.
